Trapped - by Justin Stankevich
The smell of smoke invades my nose,
and steals the air that I breath.
Fire dances around my skin
burning it to a crisp.
My legs lay trapped and useless.
My mouth is withered and tastes of soot.
My eyes can see my coming demise.
I hear the sound of wood cracking
about to buckle over.
I watch as my life flashes before my eyes.
i take my last smoke-filled breath,
and then all goes to black.
and steals the air that I breath.
Fire dances around my skin
burning it to a crisp.
My legs lay trapped and useless.
My mouth is withered and tastes of soot.
My eyes can see my coming demise.
I hear the sound of wood cracking
about to buckle over.
I watch as my life flashes before my eyes.
i take my last smoke-filled breath,
and then all goes to black.

Trapped is written through the eyes of a man as he watches his last hours fleeting by. He was trapped in a burning building, and no one was able to reach him in time. As time goes through he rethinks his past, as he gets closer to death. Taking one last breath of smoke, he watches as the wood above him buckles over and collapses on top of him, leading to his death.
